It is our goal to inform the community about your police department's philosophy, programs, and operations. With this knowledge, the police and the community can work together in making our community a better place to live. We are confronted with community growth that requires a strong community policing effort to meet the present and future demands for police services. Working together, we can meet this challenge.

Suspect Arrested for Vehicle Break-in and Forgery

On 11/4/12, a Mountain Home resident reported to police that someone knocked out the glass in a window to her locked van and stole her purse located inside the vehicle. The incident occurred sometime late on 11/3/12 or early morning on 11/4/12.

At approximately 10:30 am on 11/4/12, an employee from a local business called the victim reference someone using the victim’s checks to make purchases on more than one occasion. Police were on the scene of the break-in at the time of this call. The investigation continued at the location of the business. The suspect was identified and located at a local apartment complex and placed in custody. Evidence was collected at the scene of the break-in, the local business, and on the suspect. The victim’s driver’s license and social security card were found in one of the suspect’s pockets.  

The suspect, Kalab J. Darnell, 29 of Mountain Home was charged with the following criminal charges:

  • Forgery 2nd, (3 counts), class C felony
  • Breaking and Entering, class D felony

He was incarcerated into the Baxter County Detention Facility on a $10,000 bond.
