It is our goal to inform the community about your police department's philosophy, programs, and operations. With this knowledge, the police and the community can work together in making our community a better place to live. We are confronted with community growth that requires a strong community policing effort to meet the present and future demands for police services. Working together, we can meet this challenge.

Subject arrested for stealing handgun

On March 8th about 8 am, police responded to Harp’s Grocery to investigate the report of a stolen firearm. Their surveillance system provided information that a subject entered a locked area late the previous night and stole a .22 caliber handgun. Pursuant to information provided by the surveillance system, Jacob Lipe was arrested and charged with the following offenses:

  • Theft of Property: Firearm, class D felony
  • Breaking or entering, class D felony

The handgun has not been recovered and the investigation is continuing,
He was incarcerated in the Baxter County Detention Facility with bond set at
