The police department is responsible for providing police services to the residents of our city and the many visitors enjoying tourism and trade in Mountain Home, Arkansas. If we can assist you, contact us. Service is our only product and we strive to make it the best.

It is our goal to inform the community about your police department's philosophy, programs, and operations. With this knowledge, the police and the community can work together in making our community a better place to live. We are confronted with community growth that requires a strong community policing effort to meet the present and future demands for police services. Working together, we can meet this challenge.

Multiple drug charges filed in drug arrest

Press Release


On 11/20/13, pursuant to information concerning drug activity at a local motel, police arrested Lisa D Pederson (38) of Cotter. Patrol officers located Pederson exiting a motel room, carrying bags, purses, and containers. Officers located various items of illegal drugs, prescriptions, 3 handguns, items associated with drug abuse, and a sum of money. The drugs were seized along with $4,590 cash. Pederson was arrested for the following offenses:

Possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, a class B felony
Possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, a class C felony
Possession of heroin with intent to deliver, a class C felony
Possession of drug paraphernalia, a class D felony
Possession of drug paraphernalia, a class B felony
Simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, a class Y felony
Possession of morphine, class D felony
Possession of hydrocodone, class A misdemeanor
Possession of alprazolam, class A misdemeanor
Possession of marijuana, class A misdemeanor
Possession of firearms by certain persons, class B felony

Mitchell Smith was also arrested for an outstanding Baxter County warrant. 

Pederson was incarcerated in the Baxter County Detention Facility with bond set at $100,000.

The police department’s criminal investigative department and K-9 unit were involved in the investigation and arrests.
