Welcome to the Mountain Home Police Department online. We hope you find the department's website both informative and helpful.

The police department is responsible for providing police services to the residents of our city and the many visitors enjoying tourism and trade in Mountain Home, Arkansas. If we can assist you, contact us. Service is our only product and we strive to make it the best.

It is our goal to inform the community about your police department's philosophy, programs, and operations. With this knowledge, the police and the community can work together in making our community a better place to live. We are confronted with community growth that requires a strong community policing effort to meet the present and future demands for police services. Working together, we can meet this challenge.

Investigation and search warrant results with drug arrests

6/16/14 

Today, at approximately 10:00 AM, officers with the police department, Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, and the 14th Judicial Drug Task Force, served a search warrant at a residence on North Street in Mountain Home. The search warrant was the result of a 6 week investigation into illegal sales and distribution of prescription narcotics at the residence. Investigators learned during the course of the investigation that some of the medication being sold was prescribed to children at the residence.

The following individuals were arrested and charged with the following criminal offenses: 

RONNIE McGAUGH, 46 of Mountain Home

Delivery of a Controlled Substance (4 Counts), class C felony; Distribution Near Certain Facilities (4 Counts), unclassified felony enhancement; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, class D felony; Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, class A misdemeanor

APRIL PAYNE, 35 of Mountain Home

Delivery of a Controlled Substance (2 Counts), class C felony; Distribution Near Certain Facilities (2 Counts),  unclassified felony enhancement; Unlawful Use of a Communication Device (2 Counts), class C felony; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, class D felony; Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, class A misdemeanor

Three children were release to the custody of the Arkansas Department of Human Services. Both individuals were incarcerated in the Baxter County Detention Center with bond set at $15,000 each.
