It is our goal to inform the community about your police department's philosophy, programs, and operations. With this knowledge, the police and the community can work together in making our community a better place to live. We are confronted with community growth that requires a strong community policing effort to meet the present and future demands for police services. Working together, we can meet this challenge.

Burglary suspect arrested

Officers arrested a suspect today pursuant to an investigation into a home invasion and theft of property report. The suspect, MICHAEL PIERCE, 24 of Mountain Home, was arrested and charged with the following:

Residential Burglary, a class B felony

Theft of Property, a class A misdemeanor

On 8/7/14, an off-duty Mountain Home police officer made note of a vehicle and the occupants  that were cruising through his neighborhood on Ascension Drive. During the early evening hours, a local resident returned home to find his home had been entered sometime during the day and property was missing.

Armed with the vehicle description, the victim and off-duty officer located the vehicle on Powers Street today.  After police made contact with the female driver of the vehicle, the suspect in the burglary was identified. Police located and arrested MICHAEL PIERCE in Marion County. Baxter County deputies assisted with the arrest.

Stolen property was located by investigators at a local motel and the investigation is continuing. PIERCE was incarcerated in the Baxter County Detention Facility with bond set at $10,000.
