Traffic stops results in drug and other charges
Published: January 6, 2011

PRESS RELEASE

1-6-11

A traffic stop last night by a Mountain Home Police officer resulted in the arrest of two Jonesboro residents on a number of felony drug and misdemeanor charges. Booked into the Baxter County Detention Center were 37 year old Chad A. Dennis and 49 year old Judy L. Propes.

Dennis was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, possession of firearms by certain persons and driving on a suspended license. His bond was set at $25,000.

Propes was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to manufacture methamphetamine. Her bond was set at $10,000.

Officers observed Dennis driving and an ACIC check confirmed that his license was suspended. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the Wal-Mart parking lot about 10 p.m. Dennis was placed under arrest and admitted to officers that he had methamphetamine in his pocket along with guns in the back of the pickup. A search of Dennis revealed a substance believed to be methamphetamine and pseudoephedrine pills.  Numerous other items used in the manufacturing process of methamphetamine were located in the vehicle along with a substance believed to be methamphetamine. It was later learned that Dennis has prior felony convictions and is on probation.

A search of Propes resulted in the discovery of additional methamphetamine and a glass smoking pipe in her purse.
