On Friday, March 11th 2011, officers with the Mountain Home Police Department and the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Department of Community Corrections Parole Officers with a home visit at a residence in Mountain Home. During the home visit, several items were located that are consistent with items used during the manufacturing process of methamphetamine.
The items located include lithium batteries, plastic tubing, Coleman camp fuel, drain opener, plastic baggies, and several empty packages of pills containing pseudoephedrine. A bottle containing a solution was located, indicating the beginning of the manufacturing process. After an investigation, the following charges were filed against Eugene W Hurst, 54 of Mountain Home.

  • Manufacturing a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), class Y felony
  • Manufacturing a Controlled Substance near Certain Facilities (Church), unclassified felony

Eugene Hurst was recently paroled from prison and has been charged with similar offenses in the past. He was incarcerated in the Baxter County Detention Center on a $30,000 bond.
